Beach Safari on Skarø

Experience the wild nature of Skarø and taste the beach
Join a guided beach safari with the local inhabitants Gitte and Lene. Experience the beautiful nature, the birds, the beaches, the meadows and all the interesting plants growing here. 

Progamme of the day
Take the Højestene-ferry from the harbour in Svendborg. It will transport you across the stunning Svendborg Sund to the island Skarø. Here, Lene og Gitte will welcome you and walk with you to Gitte's restaurant Café SommerSild. After a nice beach safari lunch it's time to wander. You will see the beach meadows, and Lene - the island's nature guide - will show you the tasty herbs growing all over the beach meadows. You can have a taste of the herbs, wild shrimps, snails, sea weed, crabs etc. She will bring a fish net and a gas cooker.

You will never forget this day with its clear sea light, the rolling sound of the waves, the wind in your hair accompanied by new and exciting knowledge about the treasures of the island. The tour ends with coffee or tea with homebaked cake, whipped cream and berries.

The tour will take place if minimum 10 persons book it. Alternatively you can pay 3.600 kr. for a smaller group. Maximum 50 persons.

If the group is mixed you must expect the guides to talk both Danish and English.
